Just awful warranty service, whether you're buying hard drive with 3 or 5 year warranty it will make no difference. If you happen to RMA you drive say DOA or week old they will be resending you recertify drive until your warranty term runs out they don't really care, and in between RMA's you will be getting someone's broken not fully fixed drive. Maybe 10 years ago Western Digital what's the difference as far is being honest and having integritythey are very dishonest

Review about: Repair.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Very Dishonest

I have to totally agree with the reviewer "Awful Warranty"

1 of 2 my brand new 10TB Helium was DOA it wouldn't even power on, when I called RMA they said that they can sent me replacement (recertified) I was like what! are you kidding me I paid almost $900 per 1 and it's not even day old and you want to give me someone else's headache...no dam way.

I've been western digital fan for a long time but I remember this nonsense wasn't there 8-10 years ago, this is right out stilling.

It's been 2 weeks and I still didn't have the replacement I won't take recertified drive, once you take that you will seal the deal and I know from my previous experience, recertified drives are high probability of issues and from WD point of you they will honor their warranty fulfillment for the duration by resending you garbage that not only will make you waste your time and probably lost of data but if you have your drives deep in your system, you will have to keep on taking it apart

This is just bad, having to spend that much money and to be treated like it's no big deal I am moving away from them.....period. I know Seagate have some of their own issues but their support and replacement is so much better, if you have drive that is less than 30 days, and that's how it use to be with WD but they got greedy and I can tell you, I'm sure of that, this will come back to haunt them, it will start with individual to a mass people that will see what WD is really all about when comes to their 2-3-and 5 year warranty, don't believe that.
