My 4TB drive still under 5-year warranty failed miserably. No problem, let's get it replaced.
I created RMA with WD tech support on a phone because you can't just create RMA on their support website. No, it would be too easy. The RMA was created on 5/7/2018. It was setup as "advance replacement".
Now it is 5/25/2018 and they still did not ship the "advance replacement" drive. I'm on a phone with their support again, obviously on hold for 6 minutes now. (pause here). OK, so now the guy is back and he is telling me that they didn't have the replacement drive in stock because ...
guess what ... it is an end-of-life product that they don't carry anymore. Halloooo!!!
Don't sell 5 years of warranty if you don't intend to have a replacement drive in 5 years. Pathetic.
Reason of review: Warranty issue.
Monetary Loss: $220.
